چکیده

PURPOSE; To assess metamorphopsia in patients with epimacular membrane, using a SLO. METHOD& A SLO wa.s used to project I7 spots on the retina. A first spot considered as a reference appears at a constant place above a central flickering spot. The task consists in moving 15 other spots, appearing one after the other, in order to draw two regular squares as shown in the figure below. ~QQE: C-m of Bkcd-W Barrier (BRB) inward and outward fluxes of flu”#sceia inmlmalindivid”alsatlddiahdicpatialtswithml zically visible rciim&y using high-resdution vitmus

Quantification of metamorphopsia in patients with epiretinal membranes.

PURPOSE To quantify the degree of metamorphopsia in patients with idiopathic epiretinal membranes (ERMs), by use of a new metamorphopsia chart (M-CHARTS) developed by the authors. METHODS These M-CHARTS had 19 dotted lines with dot intervals of between 0.2 degrees (fine) and 2.0 degrees (coarse) visual angles. As the dot intervals were changed from fine to coarse, a decrease in the severity o...

Novel approach towards colour imaging using a scanning laser ophthalmoscope.

AIMS Conventional fundus imaging using a fundus camera produces colour fundus pictures. The scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) has the advantages of lower levels of light exposure, improved contrast, and direct digital imaging but until now has produced monochromatic images as a laser of single wavelength is used. True representation of the fundus is possible by combining images taken using bl...

Confocal fundus imaging with a scanning laser ophthalmoscope in eyes with cataract.

AIMS/BACKGROUND The study aimed to determine the influence of increased intraocular light scatter on the contrast in scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) images and to examine to what extent SLO images can visualise the fundus through media opacities due to cataract. METHODS Intraocular light scatter was estimated from measurements of letter contrast sensitivity before and after cataract surge...

Identifying live nematodes in diffuse unilateral subacute neuroretinitis by using the scanning laser ophthalmoscope.

OBJECTIVE To describe use of the scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) to identify live nematodes in patients with diffuse unilateral subacute neuroretinitis. METHODS Infrared, red, and blue illumination (780, 633, and 488 nm, respectively) in an SLO were used to image and evaluate functional retinal status in patients with late-stage diffuse unilateral subacute neuroretinitis. An examination t...

Tracking retinal motion with a scanning laser ophthalmoscope.

The vast majority of people with low vision retain some functional vision to perform everyday tasks. To study the effectiveness and efficiency of the visual tasks performed by people with low vision, knowing the movement patterns of their preferred retinal locus (PRL) used for fixation, saccade, and pursuit is critical. The scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) has been used to acquire retinal im...
